Badger Sunscreen Comparison: Badger SPF 30+ Unscented Sunscreen and Badger Aloe Vera Broad Spectrum SPF 16 Sunscreen Lotion AKA My Favorite Natural Physical Sunscreens!

Hello!

So here is yet another video that I recorded a month ago that I just have now found time to upload.  This one compares two awesome Badger sunscreens: Badger SPF 30+ Unscented Sunscreen and Badger Aloe Vera Broad Spectrum SPF 16 Sunscreen Lotion.  These two Badger physical sunscreens are my absolute two favorite natural/physical sunscreens, but for different purposes.  Enjoy! 🙂

Two things I did want to mention that I forgot to in my video~ I do not know when the claim of “waterproof” sunscreen goes away, or if what I read right before I made this video was just what various organizations hoped would go through.  The other thing is that I did not mention what the Aloe Vera Lotion Sunscreen smells like.  It had a very faint smell to me (fainter than the smell of the SPF 30 Unscented Sunscreen), but I cannot place what, exactly, it smells like.  It is not unpleasant, but rather just a neutral smell. (With my heightened sense of smell, I LOVE neutral smells as much as pleasant smells anymore 🙂

Have a sunny day!

~Kim

Please note: I am not affiliated with Badger, nor was I paid for this review.  I bought the Badger SPF 30 Unscented Sunscreen myself, at full price.  I did receive one bottle of Badger Aloe Vera Broad Spectrum SPF 16 Sunscreen Lotion free from the Badger Company.  I was not required to do a review on this sunscreen.  Rather, I do honestly like both of these sunscreens, and I will be buying both of these again when I have run out. I was really excited to hear about the Sunscreen Lotion from Badger because I had been trying to find a sunscreen/face moisturizer with sunscreen for my face for months that would not break me out, and I could not until this sunscreen. 🙂

Just Added: A Peek Into My Cabinet!

Hello!

Do you want to know what products I use that are nontoxic, natural, and/or organic?  I finally made an all-inclusive list on a new page of my blog called A Peek Into My Cabinet!

Check it out here: https://sunnymothernature.wordpress.com/a-peek-into-my-cabinet/

I will be continually updating it.  So you’ll always be able to know what I am currently using!

What do you think of my list: Do you think it’s useful?  Do you love it?  Think it’s too long? 😉  Or am I missing a category you’d like me to add?  Let me know in the comments!

Have a sunny day!

Keep a Lookout…

Hi everyone!

So I wanted to let you all know that I am working on a full list of products~ ones that I used to use, what I am using now, and if I do not completely love the product I’m using now, what product I want to try.

I feel that my blog shows my journey of trying to find more natural and organic products.  Therefore, some products I initially thought were “natural” and “healthy” I actually no longer believe really are.  However, I do not want to just take down these reviews because I know that they still do help some people out, and that some people just do not focus on whether a product is natural or not, but rather whether the product works.  Also, I feel that to show my journey of trying to find healthy products that it is important to keep these posts up.

So, the new list is the solution!  Keep checking back for it~ I hope to have it finished and up by the end of today! 🙂

What are your thoughts~ should I keep these posts up, or should I take them down?

Have a sunny day!

~Kim

UPDATE: I just posted my list of products on a new page on my blog called A Peek Into My Cabinet!  Check it out 🙂

My Skincare Routine for Clear Skin Naturally

Hi!

Today, I wanted to share with all of you what I use on my face~ everything I use is all natural, and help keep my skin acne free. None of my skin secrets have any chemicals, detergents, artifical fragrances, etc. and, along with cutting out processed foods and sugar, are the reasons why my skin is clear!  The fact that my skin is clear now, and never was when I was using Proactiv, Biore, Clean & Clear, etc. just goes to show that going back to nature is overall better for your health, and your skin!

So let’s begin!

My All Natural Skincare Routine for Acne Prone Skin

My Cleanser is: Honey!

For those of you who viewed My Favorite Natural Products of 2o11 video/post, this will come as no surprise.

Honey is the most wonderful “cleanser” I have used for a long, long time.  It is antibacterial.  Therefore, it helps to heal your acne, and also does not contribute to your acne.  Those are two things that are very hard for me to find from a cleanser.

Honey also does not dry out my skin.  It is actually quite moisturizing!  Another wonderful thing about honey is that it is water soluble.  This means that once water touches the honey, it starts to dissolve.  Honey leaves no residue on my face, which is another plus.

How to: Just take about half a spoonful of honey and wet your face.  Then, take small amounts of the honey and start rubbing the honey all over your face.  Finally, rinse away!  It’s easy, and takes the same amount of time as a regular cleanser, without all of the harsh chemicals, detergents, etc.

If you would like to see a small explanation of how to use honey as a cleanser, please watch My Favorite Natural Products of 2o11 video 🙂

The Requirements: Please use either local pure honey (support local beekeepers!) or USDA certified organic honey.  A study was done within the past few months that confirmed that a significant amount of regular honey from grocery stores and stores like Wal-mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. are ultra filtered honey~bottom line this means that it is either not honey at all, or honey from China (which can be diluted~with high fructose corn syrup, rice syrup, etc.~, or it can be contaminated~with antibiotics, lead, etc.~, or it can be not honey at all).  There is no reason to ultra filter honey other than to hide where that “honey” is coming from.  So please use local pure honey or USDA certified organic honey!  This way it is definitely honey 🙂

Precaution: Please do not try using honey if you are allergic!

My Acne and Acne Scar Treatment: Limes!

Limes are a wonderful little fruit, and are just as wonderful as a night treatment for healing acne and fading acne scars.  I found using limes to not dry out my skin, and definitely helped lessen the appearance of my scars on my face over a few months.  Lemons could also be used instead of limes, but I found lemons to dry out my skin, and also irritated my skin (which limes did not).

How to: After you have cleansed your skin, cut a lime until you have one small slice (I typically would cut a lime in half, and then cut one of those halves into 4 pieces.  I would then place all of the lime except for one slice into the fridge to use later).  Take one of those slices and squeeze the juice into a small bowl.  Then, dab a clean finger into the bowl and gently pat onto any acne and acne scars on your face.  Repeat until lime juice is on all of your acne and acne scars.  Let dry.

The Requirements: Preferably use an organic lime, but conventional limes work as well.  Also, please use fresh lime juice.  It is unknown how long presqueezed lime and lemon juices have been in those plastic containers.

Precaution: Only use this acne and acne scar treatment at night.  Lime juice and lemon juice both photosensitize your skin (make your skin more sensitive to sunlight).

My Moisturizer: Argan Oil

Yes, an oil is my moisturizer, and yes, I do have acne prone skin.  I know this sounds ridiculous, but it does help.  Argan oil has helped to balance my skin, moisturizes wonderfully, and does not cause acne!

How to: After cleansing your face and applying the lime juice, simply dampen your fingers and your face (where you are going to apply the argan oil).  Take one or two drops (not dropper-fulls, but drops) of oil onto your fingers.  Rub gently between your fingers and then dab onto the skin where it is needed.  You can apply one or two more drops onto your face if needed.

Requirements: Preferably use organic argan oil.  If it is cold pressed, and better yet, the first cold pressing, it has even higher amounts of essential fatty acids than compared to just refined and pure argan oil (which would be cheaper).

Also, there is a difference in quality~ the Josie Maran Organic Argan Oil which is what I use on my face (and is the first cold pressing) feels much lighter on my skin and soaks into my skin quicker than the ArganUSA Argan Oil (which I use on the rest of my body because it is less expensive, but it is not the first cold pressing) feels just a little bit heavier and takes a little bit longer to soak in.

I personally recommend Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Oil for the face, or any USDA Certified Organic Argan Oil.

Precautions: With argan oil, more is not better~Less is more in this situation.  Use only a few drops at first, then see if you need more.  Also, either your fingers or your skin needs to be damp for the oil to penetrate into the skin.  Otherwise, you will feel you need more argan oil, and it will take much longer to be absorbed by the skin.

And that’s it!  I hope these skincare ideas help you achieve clear skin!  I love these, and have been using them for many months.

Are you going to try any of my suggestions, or do you have any questions about my tips?  Leave a comment below!

And don’t forget to subscribe if you enjoy my posts~ it makes me happy ❤

Have a sunny day!

~Kim

Please note: I am not affiliated with Josie Maran Cosmetics, they did not send any products to me for review, and I am not being compensated by them.  I have bought so many of their argan oil bottles by now, that I lost count 🙂  (I’ve been using their argan oil as my sole moisturizer for over a year now)

My Favorite Natural Products of 2011!

Hello!  I hope the sun is shining in your area of the world today!

So, I decided to do another video~ this time showcasing my favorite products of 2011 that are all natural products!  I try very hard to find and use products that are good for my health as well as good overall products.  These are all of my favs and I wanted to share them with you!  I love all of these products that I just keep buying more of them when I run out. 🙂

And yes, as I mention in the video, many of these products are the only product in their category that I use!  I didn’t realize how true this was until I watched this video 🙂

I’m probably not going to post all of my youtube videos on my blog since some ideas I’m thinking about doing are maybe more youtubeland than my blog.  However, if any of you would like to see them, you can either go to my youtube channel www.youtube.com/sunnymothernature, or if you would prefer me just posting them on this blog too, let me know!  🙂

Also, check out my blog at http://www.sunnymothernature.wordpress.com

(I’m still using my laptop to record, so I know the quality isn’t the best.)

FTC: I bought all of the products mentioned in this video myself, except for this round of honey which was a Christmas present from my sister and brother-in-law, and this round of the Dr. Bronner products were Christmas presents from my parents 🙂  I do typically buy my products either in kits, or when there are sales, to save money though.  Also, I am not affiliated with any of these companies, nor was I contacted by any of them.  I just love all of these products and wanted to share them with you!

Yes! I Conquered a Sunburn Naturally~ And You Can Too!

A random goal of mine this summer was that I did not want to get a tan… or a sunburn for that matter.  I’m extremely fair (aka pale) and just decided that I wanted to embrace my fair-skinned complexion instead of attempting to get that summer-glow (this is what normally happens~I burn, then I tan.)

This goal was halted about a week ago though, when I ended up in the sun during peak sunlight hours, for several hours.  Of course that was one of the only days this summer that I did not wear sunscreen.  Oh well.

This landed me with a sunburn on my chest, shoulders, back, as well as on my nose and forehead.  At first it didn’t seem really bad, especially compared to some sunburns I have had.  However, as it turned into that night, I began to really feel the radiating heat.  I knew I had only a little time to decide what to use before I possibly ended up peeling.

I wasn’t at home, so I had limited options~ try a “normal” sunburn lotion~ full of harmful chemicals as ingredients, or try something that I’ve never tried on my sunburn before~ but that would be a natural, organic way to heal my sunburn.

I picked the latter option:

I tried Argan oil.

I normally use organic Argan oil as my overall body moisturizer anyway, and I had heard that it could be used to heal sunburns.  So, I was curious to try it.

This stuff works!  I’ve rarely had a sunburn (even minor ones) that did not peel.  Since I used Argan oil on my sunburn though, I did not peel~  Even a little!  And it healed in two days~ unheard of for my fair skin.

What I did was simple:

1) Slightly dampen the skin (where you’re planning to put the Argan oil)

2) Lightly rub about 3-5 drops of Argan oil into the skin

3) Repeat until all sunburned areas are covered

4) Wait about 3-5 minutes for the oil to soak into the skin

5) Repeat Steps 1-4 at least once in the morning and once before going to sleep until sunburn is gone; or, as many times as needed throughout the day

That’s it!  You really don’t need a lot of Argan oil on your skin either, a little bit goes a long way.  You don’t want your skin to be extremely oily~ just feeling moisturized.

The reason why you want your skin to be slightly damp when you apply the Argan oil is because this allows your skin to soak in the oil easier and quicker.  If your skin is dry, then not only will you need to use more oil, but your skin won’t soak it in as much.

I hope your remaining summer days are sunny and sunburn-free!  And if a sunburn sneaks in, use some organic Argan oil to conquer it!

~Kim

Sunny Mother Nature Loves Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Wipes!

Bear Naked Wipes

“Erase your face, not the polar bear race!”

I love this phrase! 🙂

It is always fun when I find something that I absolutely love and I want to share with other people and the Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Makeup Wipes are no exception!

I have tried the Almay Makeup Remover Towelettes before and these were a major disappointment.  However, the Josie Maran Cosmetics wipes are far, far superior!

The first thing I noticed with the Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Wipes is that they smelled really good.  It is a nice, light citrus scent.  I’ve read some reviews that don’t like it, but I really do.

The Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes also leave my skin feeling soft and not stripped.  One of the reasons why I didn’t like the Almay makeup towelettes is that they would leave my skin feeling very, very odd.  I’ve been trying to figure out how exactly to describe how my skin felt with these wipes and I’m struggling with words.  They didn’t make my skin burn or sting, but they did irritate my skin.  Not only that though, they would leave my skin with this really weird and uncomfortable sensation.  I hated it!!

The Bear Naked wipes are the first ones that do not leave my skin feeling that way!  They are really gentle on my skin.

They are also paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty-free, petrochemical free, vegan, and biodegradable!  All of these make me feel really good to use these on my face!  I try to especially avoid parabens, fragrance (as an ingredient listing), and petrochemicals, as well as use products that are cruelty-free.

Now, they don’t take off waterproof makeup, nor do they really take off eye makeup in general.  So, I just use an eye makeup remover in addition to these.  However, I had to do this with the Almay makeup remover towelettes too, so this wasn’t a huge deal to me.  They do take off my normal makeup really nicely though!  I do wash my face though after I use these.  I heard on various youtube beauty videos that it was recommended to take your makeup off first and then wash your face.  Otherwise, your face wouldn’t get cleaned.  (They recommended if you didn’t have makeup remover to wash your face twice.  Once to remove the makeup and the second time to cleanse your skin).  I have been noticing that my face isn’t breaking out as much since I’ve been following this routine.  If just using a makeup wipe works for your skin though, and it doesn’t make you break out, go for it!

They are $12 for 30 wipes.  This is more expensive than drugstore makeup wipes (I think I paid $5 or $6 for the Almay ones), but they are around the same price as other non-drugstore brands.  You can buy these from www.josiemarancosmetics.com, www.sephora.com, or www.qvc.com

Josie Maran Cosmetics even gives a portion of each of these makeup wipes sold to help save the polar bears!  They give the portions to the National Resources Defense Council’s Polar Bear SOS initiative.  So, you are doing something good for your face and polar bears!  If you would like to learn more about this initiative, please go to www.polarbearsos.org.

So, if you want to try some natural makeup wipes, try Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Wipes!  They work nicely and help save polar bears, which you and Mother Nature will love!

Have a sunny day!

~Kim

Please Note: I am not affiliated with Josie Maran Cosmetics, Almay, or the National Resources Defense Council.  None of these companies are compensating me for my review.  Almay and the National Resources Defense Council did not send me products to try.

Josie Maran Cosmetics did send my mom and me some products at the beginning of December 2010, but not for review (I didn’t have my blog at this time.  I started it at the end of Dec.).  My mom ordered some Josie Maran Body Butters for me for Christmas (because of my cracking hands) during their Cyber Monday sale and Josie Maran Cosmetics accidently missed our order.  So, they sent some products as little gifts to us to make up for it, and two of those products were travel sized Bear Naked wipes.  My mom and I were amazed at their generosity!  However, this has not swayed my opinion of this product.  These are my honest opinions and thoughts.  I bought the Almay makeup remover towelettes myself.  My mom did buy me two full sized Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Wipes as early Birthday presents for me too because of how much I love these! Thanks Mom! 🙂

Sunny Mother Nature Loves the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask!

I am normally not a mud mask person.  Actually, I’m not really a facial mask person.  Most masks leave my oily, acne-prone skin dry and really tight.  Not only that but none of the ones I’ve tried really do anything for my skin.  The only mask I’ve ever liked was the Principal Secret Advanced Gentle Enzyme Treatment Mask.  This leaves my skin moisturized, not stripped.  Yet, I’ve wanted to try a Dead Sea Mud mask, even though I hadn’t found any mud masks that worked for my skin.  Until now!

The Adovia Purifying Mud Mask is amazing!  I’ve been just getting into using Dead Sea Mud products and this is one of the products I’ve been using for a little over a month now.

The Adovia mud mask includes Dead Sea Black mud, beeswax, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil, and olive oil in its ingredients.  This mud mask is said to pull out toxins and impurities from your skin that can clog your pores and cause visible signs of aging.  Also, it’s supposed to tighten pores and boost cell renewal while revitalizing your skin.

Some sort of mud mask, or exfoliating mask really needs to be used once a week to get the dirt and impurities out of our skin that our normal cleansers cannot reach.  Otherwise, the dirt and impurities can cause breakouts, or cause larger pores.

So, why Dead Sea Mud?

People from around the world travel to the Dead Sea, which is inbetween Israel and Jordan, every year to put mud on their bodies.    This sea has the saltiest water on Earth with an extremely concentrated amount of mineral salts.  It is so concentrated that people who go into the water actually float!  The mud from the Dead Sea is used in skincare because it pulls out toxins and pollutants, and purifies their skin.  It is even said that Cleopatra may have used Dead Sea mud.

What did I think of the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask?

It really helps with my acne!  Whenever I use this mud mask religiously, I do see a major difference in my skin.  It is a lot clearer and less red.  The acne that I have begins to heal and go away, and no other new acne seems to form.

However, I have not seen any difference in my pores (they are fairly noticeable) and I don’t know if it’s boosted cell renewal.  These were not two things that I was actually trying to find products for though.  My main focus with my skin is really my acne.

I leave this mask on for about 20 minutes.  Basically until the mud is dry on my face.  There is a little bit of an exfoliation feeling while you wash off the mask.  I normally use this at least twice a week.  However, I have used this before every day for two weeks and that seemed to especially help my skin.  It is recommended that you use this once a week, or as needed.

This mask apparently can be used for all skin types, dry to oily and acne-prone.  Honestly, this is a really moisturizing mud mask.  It does feel a little drying when I’m washing it off (because of the exfoliation) but once it’s completely off, it really leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, moisturized, and looking noticeably smoother.

My problem is that I forget to use this!  However, when I don’t use this mud mask, that is when I see more pimples forming, like usual.  This mask especially helps to lessen the amount of acne I have when I’m stressed.

Yet, this doesn’t get rid of my acne completely.  Perhaps the other products I’m using on my face right now are hindering it, or it just doesn’t have the strength to clear up my acne.  However, this product really does work wonders for my skin and I will not be without this mud mask!

The Adovia Purifying Mud Mask is $29.99.  You can buy this mask off of many websites including Amazon at www.amazon.com, and Cleopatra’s Choice, where I bought this, at www.cleopatraschoice.com

If you would like to know more about the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask, please click here to go to this product on Cleopatra’s Choice: http://www.cleopatraschoice.com/mud-mask.html

So, if you want to try a nice Dead Sea Mud mask, try the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask!  It helps to purify your skin of toxins and pollutants, and Mother Nature won’t mind if you use this.  After all, Dead Sea mud is from Mother Nature! 😉

Have a sunny day!

~Kim

Please Note: I am not affiliated with Adovia Mineral Skin Care, Amazon, or Cleopatra’s Choice, nor did any of them send me this product to try/review, nor are any of them compensating me for this review.  I just wanted to share this wonderful mask with others 🙂

Sunny Mother Nature Loves Josie Maran Cosmetics Whipped Argan Oil Body Butters

Sunny Mother Nature loves Josie Maran’s new Whipped Argan Oil Body Butters in Sweet Citrus and in Vanilla & Apricot!

I have, since I was at least 11 years old, always had trouble with my hands cracking and bleeding in the winter.  My mom, my sister and I have all searched for lotions, body butters, etc. to try to help my hands.  Every now and then I would find something that worked to help keep my hands from bleeding, but I would still have trouble with them cracking.  In this journey, I have tried so many different lotions, body butters and shea butters that I lost count years ago.

But then I wanted to go more natural too.  So, the search was even more difficult.  Until I found Josie Maran Cosmetics.

The new Josie Maran Cosmetics’ Whipped Argan Oil Body Butters in Sweet Citrus and Vanilla & Apricot are amazing!  I have been using these for a little over a month.  Every time that I rub these into my hands, my hands instantly begin to feel at a normal moisture level, instead of dry and preparing to crack.

They are also not oily.  I just place a little on my hands throughout the day, rub it in, and my hands feel wonderful for hours, without greasiness.

And the scents are divine.  I love them both.   They are not like normal “fruity scents” either.  They smell like actual citrus fruits and an actual apricot!  It’s simply amazing.

My hands have NEVER looked this good during the winter (since maybe I was a little kid) as they do now.  My hands look like how they do during the summer!  No cracking or bleeding- and no sign that they will either!!

These are truly miracle producing products for my hands.  I’ve never said any other product, not just for my hands but any product, was a miracle product either.  But, no other product has given me these kind of drastic results either.  Ever.

On Josie Maran Cosmetics’ website, www.josiemarancosmetics.com, it states “This velvety, lightweight and hydrating body butter is whipped to perfection, so you can spread the love with Josie Maran’s signature ingredient, Argan Oil. This precious, rare oil is spun into a unique creamy butter to easily revitalize skin and restore softness while improving skin’s texture. Powerful anti-oxidants enrich and nourish your skin as you indulge your senses with your choice of two subtle all-natural aromas, invigorating sweet citrus and soothing vanilla apricot. 8 fl oz./240 mL.”  The body butters are $35 each.

Another thing that I love is that the ingredients are all good for you.  Many of the ingredients are organic and most of the rest are plant derived.  Even better is what they leave out- there are no petrochemicals (like mineral oil or petrolatum), no parabens and no artifical colors in these body butters!

Also, there is no ingredient listing of “fragrance,” or “parfum”-so, you truly know what all the ingredients in these wonderful body butters are!  They even placed the ingredients on their website-so you know what the ingredients are before you buy.

The ingredients for Vanilla & Apricot are-

Aloe Barbadensis (ORGANIC Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Sclerotium Gum, Argania Spinosa Kernal (ORGANIC Argan) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Helianthus Annuus (ORGANIC Sunflower) Seed Oil, Natural Vegetable Glycerin, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glyceryl Stearate (Plant Derived), Butyrospermum Parkii (ORGANIC Shea Butter), Polysorbate-60 (Plant Derived), Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla Bean) Fruit Extract, Persea Gratissima (ORGANIC Avocado) Oil, Beta Carotene, Ethylhexylglycerin (Plant Derived Preservative), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruite Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Leaf Extract, Matcha Tea Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Allantoin, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract

The ingredients for Sweet Citrus are-

The little symbols they use for these body butters are (to show what they do and don’t have in them):

Argan Oil Fragrance Free Made with Love! Natural No Animal Testing Organic Paraben Free Petrochemical Free Recyclable Recycled Toxin Free Vegan

Will I be buying these again?  YES!!  I will continue buying Josie Maran’s Whipped Argan Oil Body Butters as long as they are made because of how natural they are as well as the results I have had with my hands.

So, give either one a try-I personally love both of the scents (although my Sweet Citrus is going down quicker than my Vanilla & Apricot).  And these are body butters, so try them all over your body.  I just need the extra moisture specifically on my hands.  Hopefully if you try these, they will work as good for you as they have been working for me.

Mother Nature won’t mind you trying them either-after all, they’re way more natural and good for you, and for her, than a majority of body butters and lotions on the market.

Please Note-I am not affiliated with Josie Maran Cosmetics, nor did they give me these products to try, or compensate me for my review.  I received these body butters as early Christmas presents from my mother, in hopes that they would help my hands.

NUDE Skincare Cleansing Facial Oil

Sunny Mother Nature likes using NUDE Skincare’s Cleansing Facial Oil.

Cleansing Facial Oil

For the past 6 months I have been trying to get away from using foaming facial cleansers, especially ones made for oily skin.  I have thought for years that I have an oily skin type.  Yet, what do I find out when I switched to non-foaming cleansers-this is not the case!  I actually have combination to normal skin.  Imagine that!  (By using cleansers for oily skin, my skin would get really dry because the cleansers were trying to get rid of the excess oil.  Yet, this then made my face even more oily because my face was trying to make up for the oil lost to the cleanser.  When I stopped stripping my face of the oil, that’s when my face started to stop producing as much oil as it used to and my face then went to combination/normal skin)

However, for me, switching to just non-foaming cleansers wasn’t enough.  I wanted to start using a natural non-foaming cleanser (or at least one with very little foaming).

I was looking on Sephora (www.sephora.com) to see if they had any under their Natural Seal that appealed to me.  NUDE Skincare’s Cleansing Facial Oil was the one that popped out at me.

It states on the back of the bottle that “This remarkable cleanser effectively removes even the most stubborn make-up.  The beautiful non-irritating natural oil protects and leaves skin smooth, supple and perfectly soft.  Warm between hands and massage onto dry face.  Apply warm water to form a light milk and rinse clean.  For normal to dry skin.”  (Although, on the box it says “For all skin types.”)  It is $36 for 3.4 oz from either www.sephora.com, or www.nudeskincare.com.

Also, this product does not have parabens, sulphates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, mineral oil, or silicones.  So, NUDE Skincare is being nice to you and Mother Nature.  These ingredients are not being absorbed by your skin and they are not going down the pipes into our water supplies, or into our environment.

It’s ingredients are glycine soja (soybean) oil, polyglyceryl-4-oleate (vegetable oil), squalene (olive oil), tocopherol acetate (plant sources), natural fragrance (parfum), benzyl benzoate (essential oil), linalool (essential oil), eugenol (essential oil).

I did not notice until now that it does have “fragrance” as an ingredient.  So, here’s to hoping it does have only nice ingredients as part of “fragrance”.

On the NUDE Skincare site (www.nudeskincare.com), it even states “Now with an even smaller carbon footprint, this beautiful Cleansing Facial Oil is one of the most responsibly packaged beauty products on the market – with an entirely recyclable plastic bottle using 100% Post Consumer Regrind (PCR).”

So even it’s packaging is nicer to Mother Nature!

NUDE Skincare’s line is mostly made up of anti-aging products.  If you are interested, look at one of the websites for more information on those.  However, I like that this cleanser can be used by people who do not want anti-aging facial products  (it is not advertised as one of their anti-aging products).

I’ve been using this for a couple of months now and I do really like it.   However, at first I did add some water to my face and continue massaging it in a little more after first massaging it onto dry skin, but this ended up drying out my face.  So, I do not recommend doing that.

What I have found to work for me is to massage this on dry skin and then add water to my hands and just rinse it off.  This way, my skin does stay at a nice moisture level.  This cleanser did get rid of all my make-up too without being really harsh on my face.

Will I be buying this again?  Definitely. (although there is another cleansing oil that has grabbed my attention that I want to try too…)

So, if you want to be nicer to your skin and to Mother Nature, try NUDE Skincare’s Cleansing Facial Oil.  With Sephora, if you buy something and do not like it, you can return it for free.  However, there are also many other cleansing oils out there to try.  Just please, for your health and Mother Nature’s, always look to see if the cleanser is good for you and Mother Nature. Either way, Mother Nature will always appreciate any love you show towards her.

Please Note-I am not affiliated with NUDE Skincare, or with Sephora, and neither company gave me this product to try.  I bought this product myself from www.sephora.com.  It appears that Sephora will constantly have their “free returns” policy.  However, this could change sometime in the future after I have written this post.  Also, even though this product works for me, that does not mean that this product will definitely work for you.
